Are you a parent ...?

Here's an interesting project which I thought you might like to see...

Regular readers of this blog will be aware of some of the projects which I have featured which have been funded by Kickstarter. Lorna and Daniel Freytag contacted me about this fun project which is on Kickstarter right now.
In their words:
We're a mum and dad team called HeyWow! working from the small seaside town of Oban on the north-west coast of Scotland with our two little highland monsters (aged 2 and 4). Twelve months ago we had the crazy idea of creating our own personalised children's books, to bring a bit more WOW to kids lives. Our aim was to create something vibrant, well designed and exciting that parents could enjoy too! How hard can that be??? Ha! Nearly one year later (in between caring for the kids) and after lots of brain storming, cups of tea, sketching, tea, emails, business plans, photo shoots, more tea, Skype calls and many many late nights, we're now ready to reveal our first picture book... 'In the City'.

Award success for Freytag Anderson

Congratulations to Freytag Anderson. At the annual Scottish Design awards held last week in Glasgow, Freytag Anderson walked away with four awards including Scottish Design Agency of the Year 2014.

The annual event was judged by an esteemed panel including Innocent Drinks Dan Germain, Lewis Moberly’s Mary Lewis, Stephen Royle of The Chase and Smith & Milton’s Steven Anderson.

The annual event hosted by The Drum celebrates the best in Scottish design. Held at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu, they were awarded the Chairman’s Award for Design, Best Corporate Identity, Best Packaging design and the aformentioned Scottish Design Agency of the Year. Have a look at their great work for yourselves: http://www.scottishdesignawards.com/results

It was lovely to receive an email saying the following "This is an incredible result for a business as young as ours and off course we couldn't have done it without the help of our great clients, studio collaborators Matt Burns, Shaun Woods and Liam Rutherford, our suppliers, family and friends. We'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to you all."

Freytag Anderson have appeared on this blog many times and we are pleased to have worked with them on projects including their lovely work for the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh. Congratulations to Daniel and Greig for this fantastic achievement

ALSO - The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also honoured for their heroic efforts to save the majority of the Glasgow School of Art's iconic Mackintosh building and its contents after a fire in late May - well done to all the lads and lassies involved.

Editions of 100

"Editions of 100"  is an online gallery/shop curated by Daniel Freytag, creative director of Edinburgh based studio, BERG (http://www.bergstudio.co.uk/).

The idea is to make original limited edition design objects available for sale by selected designers, photographers and artists.

They launched on 14 February with work by Andy Altmann (Why Not Associates), Ross Colquhoun (Human Resources), Kelvyn Smith (Mr Smith Letterpress Workshop) and Daniel himself with Greig Anderson (Effektive). Initially they'll be offering screenprints and giclĂ©e prints but expanding to letterpress, tees and design objects in the near future. As the name suggests, each work will be hand numbered and strictly limited to 100 editions.
...and the lovely work you see here, is printed on our Matrisse 200gsm.
