It's Nice That #3 out now!

It's Nice That  - Issue 3 is out now!

Yes the eponymous It's Nice That, publication has hit the streets. Packed with the usual superbly selected content including interviews with Ken Garland and Tom Dixon amongst others, these guys are pulling in some amazingly big names.

The pre-order copies come with a fantastic silkscreen print (pictured below) designed by Dutch artist, Parra. Size is  (552x980mm) printed on Offenbach Bible 60gsm.
As normal there is too much good stuff to list here but it's great to see that Jasmine Raznahan (http://www.jasmineraznahan.com/) who I have worked with over the years and who has now finished her MA at the RCA has a piece about her work on Page 81.
Production details are as previous issues with the text being on Redeem 100% Recycled 100gsm and Colorset 100% Recycled cover 270gsm in Indigo. Cover is Silkscreened one colour and die cut. Size is 210x275mm Portrait and this issue has 128pp text. Print is by Push (http://www.push-print.com/) - and below you can see a picture of the job being printed.
Design is by Alex Bec and Will Hudson in collaboration with Joseph Burrin.
And thanks to Alex and Will for the lovely note.

If You Could Collaborate ... Private view

Wow, this has got to be the most successful Private view ever!
Yesterday evening, it was the "if you could collaborate" exhibition launch, held at the A Foundation Gallery in London E2.

The RSVP e-mail had suggested wrapping up warm and being patient as the response to invitations had been high and so it was....
I arrived at 6.30 and already the queue was about 30 deep and in another ten minutes there were at least a hundred...

Unfortunately due to the size of the gallery and the numbers, they were having to work a "one in, one out" system.

Sadly I had to get home so never actually made it into the exhibition but I spoke to a number of people on the way out and apparently it's really good, so I shall be going next week (it's on until 24th January).
It meant that I didn't get to see the catalogue which is printed on our Redeem 100% Recycled ...which according to Alex and Will is another Redeem triumph! - thanks very much for the lovely note. http://www.ifyoucould.co.uk/

It's Nice That - Issue 2 - out NOW!

Yes, issue 2 of It's Nice That is out now - and if you pre-ordered your copy, you will also have received your Rob Ryan screenprint as well.

There's some amazing stuff in here, far too much to list but my particular favourite is the "camouflage" by Noma Bar (page 90/91).

Production details are all as my post for Issue#1 (25/06/2009) except for the colour of the Colorset on the cover.

Nice one again Alex and Will!

It's nice that

http://www.itsnicethat.com/ is a blog set up by Will Hudson and Alex Bec and I'm sure will be familiar to many of you. This blog is particularly unusual because they created a physical incarnation - yes, it became a printed book - ON PAPER!

I just received an e-mail update from them and they have sold all the copies in less than a couple of months - so well done to them - hopefully this demonstrates that good quality print is not a dead medium and is still very much alive - can't wait until the next one!

The paper used is Colorset Ash 270gsm for the cover and the text is printed on Redeem 100% Recycled 100gsm. Print is by Push (http://www.push-print.com/)
