Links of London Christmas 2013



I've just been sent some copies of this very simple, well executed, promotional piece produced this Christmas for Links of London. It is a 142mm square, 4pp card, produced on StarFine White 240gsm. The material was chosen because it isn't a fluorescent, brilliantly high white! It has a good whiteness and certainly isn't off white but has a more neutral white tone together with a natural feel.

The paper choice has definitely enhanced the project with the material working superbly with the very detailed images of the jewellery (in my opinion!) Printed in CMYK, offset litho.

The design and art direction is 'in house' at Links of London. Printed offset litho by Quadrant, who are based in Hertford and part of the Linney Group. Thanks to David Crompton at Quadrant for kindly sending me some file copies.

My World of Charms

This is a lovely little publication produced by Links of London for their popular range of charms and charm bracelets. Titled My World of Charms it is a small 'handbag' size of 110mm square. The book has a 4pp cover with a 60pp text and is perfect bound. There are also 2 reverse folded insert pages which are printed on a self adhesive paper, so you can create your own charms and then attach them to one of the illustrated bracelets.

Our very bright Colorset Magenta 270gsm is used for the cover to great effect and you certainly can't miss it! The cover is hot foil blocked with a matt white foil.

The text pages are printed on Marazion Ultra 115gsm with the natural, flat mattness which works both with the jewellery and the illustrated pages...

Designer on the project (and the fab illustration) is Maiko Nagao working in-house at Links. Printing, including the foiling and self adhesive stickers is by Pureprint. All in all a really lovely little book.

Friendship

This is a lovely piece of quality literature. It is a card that is presented when you have a friendship bracelet made as a gift by Links of London. This is an example of a highly finished and well produced "card" which many people would consider as entirely superfluous - but this small piece of print re-inforces everything that the brand stands for - down to the smallest detail.

Size is 175mmx95mm. It is a 4pp card with a die cut tab inside for holding a receipt and copy of order form...and the teeny (60x40mm) gift card is for writing a schmaltzy message. Printed in CMYK and hot foil blocked in silver foil. It is printed on Omnia 280gsm, so the colour is vibrant and the foil "sinks" nicely into the sheet. 

Design is by Chris Bedson.

Litho printing and lovely quality hot foiling is by Generation Press.

Links of London Christmas catalogue

I've just picked up some copies of this lovely promotion produced last Christmas for Links of London.

It is an A6 portrait format with a 4pp cover (240gsm) and a 16pp text (100gsm). It is produced on Redeem 100% Recycled which has a natural shade and feel to it but has reproduced the very detailed and exacting images superbly. The cover image is fantastic (in my opinion!)

Design and Art Direction is by Chris Bedson at Links of London.

The promotion was accompanied by an additional 4pp card (Printed on Redeem 100% Recycled 315gsm) which had perforated tokens offering additional incentives for lapsed customers - very nicely done.

The job is very well printed and finished and was produced by The Midas Press in Farnborough which unfortunately went bankrupt in January this year [see my previous post http://justinsamazingworldatfennerpaper.blogspot.com/2010/02/midas-press-goes-bankrupt.html]
