Monocle is a premium media brand with print, audio and online elements, not to mention their ever expanding retail network and on-line business. The Monocle Shop is at street level in six cities - London, Zurich, Merano, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Toronto. The shop keeps everything from luggage and clothes to stationery and furniture.

The finished size is 216x102mm, portrait and is a 16pp folded format folding out to a flat size of 405x432mm.

The above folds out to reveal the first spread below...

...and then folding out again, left and right.

and then folding up to reveal the full spread below.

The below image shows both sides.

The whole publication is all printed offset litho on our Offenbach Bible 60gsm ...and it looks and feels absolutely gorgeous - it flops and folds in a delightful way when handling the publication as I hope these images demonstrate. The below image shows the way it folds.

Print quality is superb as I hope the image below demonstrates, fleshtone reproduction is excellent.
Design is by the team at Monocle. The publication is printed offset litho, CMYK throughout. The excellent print is by Park Communications, who are based in East London.

St. Barth Map

Sibarth, is one of the largest villa rental companies on the exclusive Caribbean island of St. BarthKesselsKramer, who have studios in Amsterdam, London and Los Angeles conducted a total rebrand. KK developed a strategy based on the fact that Sibarth were the first villa company established on the island, and the only one run exclusively by people who live on St. Barth. KK emphasised this with a new campaign theme: 'Our Island. Your Way', new logo, website, editorial content and films.
As part of the print collateral, they produced this map of the island...
The finished size of the map is 160x120mm, which folds out to 320x480mm. It is not a regular map-fold, as you can see from the picture above, after folding up the front cover, you are faced with two 60mm flaps which meet in the middle, which neatly leads you into the content...
Below shows the inside of the map laid out flat.
Below shows the outside, with the map of Gustavia, the capital, on the right hand side.
The map is beautifully illustrated by French illustrator Cassandre Montoriol.

The paper used is our Alga Carta from FAVINI chosen because it was in keeping with the sustainable concerns of the island. Alga Carta is manufactured partly using algae harvested from the fragile marine areas, combined with recycled and FSC certified fibres. Algae blooms in abundance in certain areas, clogging up the flow of water in lagoons and endangering the eco-balance of the area.
The map is printed on Alga Carta, White 120gsm and the 53mm wide 'belly-band on 160gsm. If you aren't familiar with Alga Carta, the specs of Alga are actually visible in the sheet as you can see in the detail below:
Design is by KesselsKramer, London and the Art Director is Tash Ingall and producer is Tialda Lublink. It is printed offset litho by Park Communications in London and my thanks to Gareth John for sending me file copies.

Sustainable Print

Park Communications in London has an enviable reputation as being one of the Capital's foremost corporate printers and one with the highest environmental credentials, having won Printweek Environmental Printer of the year in 2017 followed by a highly commended in 2018.
Park has produced this guide aimed at providing tips about sustainable printing for brands and includes articles on sustainable materials, sustainable large format, and the creative opportunities of sustainable printing.

Size is A5 (210x148mm) portrait. The 4pp cover is printed on Crush, Corn 250gsm with the 8pp text on Shiro Echo, White 120gsm.
The above image shows a project for Spitfire Audio, printed by Park on a combination of Shiro Echo and Flora Giglio, which I wrote about on this blog here.
Our Crush range from Favini in Italy, is manufactured using 15% agro-industrial residues from the processing of corn and hopefully, in the below image, you can see the small specs and inclusions in the paper.
The guide is written, designed and printed by Park Communications and is digitally printed using their HP Indigo press. It is also available as a pdf download here.

Crown Estate Annual Report & Accounts

The Crown Estate is an independent commercial business, created by Act of Parliament. They invest in and manage some of the UK's most important assets and have a diverse portfolio of UK buildings, shoreline, seabed, forestry, agriculture and common land. The business generates valuable revenue for the government and over the last 10 years has contributed £2.6 billion.

This publication is the current Annual Report for the year 2018/19 and is designed by communication and corporate reporting specialists Radley Yeldar.
Size of the report is A4 (297x210mm) portrait and is section sewn. It has a 4pp cover and 120pp text and is printed on our new Creative Print, Diamond which is a 100% Recycled paper and board range, which we launched on World Environment Day last year.
The report is printed using 270gsm for the cover and 120gsm for the text. Creative Print has an antique, tactile surface and is completely uncoated. It has an excellent bulk and good opacity, the 120pp text makes a document with an 11mm spine, as you can see in the above image.
The report makes excellent use of line illustrations and Creative Print looks great on these pages, with an engaging, tactile feel but printing the solid colours as you can see in the image below, is also no problem
The report is printed offset litho in CMYK plus a pantone special by Park Communications. The colour reproduction is bright and vibrant...
...as you can see in the detail image below
The report has a lovely use of space both for the report section and the accounts.
The 120gsm text is bulky, so it has a light weight, yet is thick, but flows well and turns nicely in the hand.
Below image shows the beautifully bound section sewn sections...
Creative Print is manufactured by Euler in Germany, which is part of the Koehler Paper Group. The range carries the "Blue Angel" certification. Introduced in 1978, the Blue Angel scheme is the oldest ecolabel in the world, and it covers some 10,000 products in some 80 product categories. The scheme is rigorously policed and gives total credibility to any product that is awarded the label, which I'm sure is just one very good reason that this paper was chosen to print this report on. Below is the credit page which appears in the back of the report which references the Blue Angel accreditation.
You can see the online version of the report here:

The report is printed by Park Communications based in East London, which is one of the major Annual Report printers in the UK and has been a finalist and winner of the Printweek Awards R&A category many times in recent years. Account Director at Park is Suresh Dhul.
