The Lionesses' did it!
In a thrilling final yesterday evening, the curtain has fallen on the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championships with England successfully defending their title winning in the penalty shootout against Spain.
Euro 2025, was the 14th edition of the UEFA Women's Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised for the women's national teams of Europe and played in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July 2025.
...and apart from the congratulations that go to the winning team and the runners up, I should also like to thank the designer of our amazing wallchart. This is the latest in a series of beautifully designed typographic wallcharts which have all been designed by David Coates, who is an independent designer. My thanks to Dave for making it all happen - a perfect way to combine his love of type and football!
It is printed on our Colorset Bright Red 120gsm (100% Recycled too!) which is the perfect Swiss red shade. They are digitally printed in two colour, white and black.
The flat size is 880 x 315mm perfect for wall, door or cabinet mounting!

The Trouble with Mr Doodle
This Wednesday, Channel 4 is showing a documentary, titled The Trouble with Mr Doodle, exploring his obsession with doodling and his personal struggles..
Avid Fenner Paper diary fans may remember our 2019 diary cover created by Mr Doodle and regular readers of this blog may recall wne I met the (then) 23 year old Mr Doodle (aka Sam Cox) at The Art of Ping Pong opening and was truly inspired by his work which is when I asked if he would like to collaborate on our diary!
As I understand it Mr Doodle not only has a successful career but he is now married (presumably Mrs Doodle?) 😊 and they have a son too, so congratulations to them both and I look forward to watching the documentary on Wednesday...
As a reminder, here is the amazing 2019 Fenner Paper diary...

My thanks to Mr Doodle for collaborating with us on our diary back in 2019, when he was slightly less famous! ...and I should like to wish him continued success with his career.

Euro25 starts today!
Today is the opening game of the women’s Euro 2025 and I’m pleased to show our typographic wallchart for recording the action. Hosted by Switzerland, the tournament kicks off on July 2nd when Iceland play Finland in the first of 31 matches, contested by 16 teams. England are the defending Euro champions after victory at Wembley in 2022 gave them their first major trophy, and propelled the women’s game forward in record-breaking fashion.
Euro 2022 smashed all records with 87,192 people attending the final – a record for a men’s or women’s Euro finals match. The increasing popularity of women’s football suggests that viewing and attendance records are likely to be broken again this year. This is the latest in a series of beautifully designed typographic wallcharts which have all been designed by David Coates, who is an independent designer. My thanks to Dave for making it all happen - a perfect way to combine his love of type and football!
It is printed on our Colorset Bright Red 120gsm, which is the perfect Swiss red shade. They are digitally printed in two colour, white and black.
We have sent out a number of these wallcharts to our football loving design clients, but if you want to make absolutely sure you get a copy, you can email me justin@fennerpaper.co.uk ...as long as you promise to use our papers!

Another paper mill hits the buffers...
Sadly, yet another mill has gone into insolvency and closed. They are hoping to restructure, although if they manage it, this will be the third time.
Based in Uetersen outside Hamburg, the mill specialises in making coated label papers for pacakging.
You can read the full article on Printweek here...

World Environment Day 2025
Today is World Environment Day. This event is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Since it began in 1974, the event has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries. Above all, World Environment Day is the "people's day" for doing something to take care of the Earth. That "something" can be local, national or global. It can be a solo action or involve a crowd. What better day for me to remind you of a material we launched to coincide with COP26.
PaperWise is an entirely new concept, a range of paper and board manufactured from agricultural waste - this is the stems and leaves left over the harvest and which is often left in the field or burnt. There are additional benefits: PaperWise is produced in factories in India and South America that make a big difference to local communities. Investments are made in education, infrastructure, and healthcare while the manufacturing process is geared toward safety, zero waste, and preserving local ecology.
Lifecycle analysis (LCA) conducted by the University of Amsterdam (IVAM) has concluded that the environmental impact is 47% lower than FSC-paper made from trees and 29% lower than recycled paper...
The natural shade, manufactured from 100% agri-waste is also completely unbleached and has lower Co2 emissions than virgin fibre or recycled papers.
The PaperWise range is held in stock by us at Fenner Paper in Tonbridge. European stocks are held in Rotterdam and include a wide range of packaging boards and lightweight papers with food approval, copier paper and even corrugated boards.
You can read more about this new range HERE and about how this fits with the UN sustainable development goals...
The paper and boards are suitable for all print work and packaging, with a one side coated packaging board up to 465microns.
PaperWise founder Peter van Rosmalen features on this 1 minute video here:
